Matt varnish 2K with hardener, 5-litre canister next to a smaller hardener bottle, studio photo

Matt varnish 2K incl. hardener
5 l + 0.5 l

Item no. 1058

Matt varnish 2K is the final step: it seals decorative wall and floor surfaces and dries transparent and silk-matt. The two-component PU sealer is water-based. On dark surfaces, the matt look lightens the shade slightly. The container holds 5 l of base and 0.5 l of hardener, which you mix 10 to 1. Roll the varnish on in at least two coats, at approx. 0.08 to 0.125 l per m² and coat. The second coat goes on within 24 hours; after that, only with intermediate sanding. Substrate and surroundings must not fall below 5 °C during application and drying. At 20 °C and 65 % rel. humidity, the surface can be recoated after approx. 4 hours, walked on for light use after 24 hours and fully loaded after 7 days.

  • Water-based, also approved as a top seal for wet rooms on walls and floors
  • Load capacity: walkable after 24 hours, full load after 7 days
  • Under 30 g VOC per litre

Questions

What applicators ask about this.

Frequently asked questions

Base and hardener, in what ratio do I mix them?

10 to 1: 10 parts base to 1 part hardener. The containers are designed for exactly this: 5 l of base in the canister and 0.5 l of hardener in the bottle.

When can I varnish after trowelling?

On T-Razzino+ 2K, no earlier than 12 hours after the second trowel application. Beforehand, lightly sand the dried surface with 80 to 120 grit and remove all dust. For other trowel coatings, follow their own data sheet.

Is one coat of varnish enough?

No, at least two coats. If more than 24 hours pass between the first and second coat, sand lightly with a fine grit before the second application. Allow about 0.08 to 0.125 l per m² per coat.

When can the surface be put under load?

It can take full loads after 7 days at 20 °C. The varnish is dry and can be recoated after around 4 hours at 20 °C and 65 % relative humidity, and it can be walked on for light use after 24 hours. Lower temperatures and higher humidity extend each of these times.

What should I roll with so that no streaks are left?

With a short-pile varnish roller or nylon roller. Pour the varnish into a paint tray, wet the roller well and let it soak in for a few minutes. Roll on generously in a crosswise pattern, spread the varnish evenly in parallel lanes and lay off. Do not leave any puddles.
