Primer
6.6 kg
Item no. 1002
On tiles and other non-absorbent or weakly absorbent substrates, the Primer goes on first, before you trowel with T-Razzino+ 2K or T-Razzino 1K. The dispersion primer is filled with marble powder and comes ready to use. By default, it is tinted slightly grey, and the grain size goes up to 180 µm. Apply it generously in a crosswise pattern with the paint roller. If one coat is not enough, a second follows after drying. You can dilute it with water, 5 % at most. Consumption is approx. 0.1 to 0.25 kg per m². At 20 °C and 65 % rel. humidity, the surface can be recoated after about 1 hour. Substrate and surroundings must not fall below 5 °C. Store the Primer in a dry, frost-free place. You can find all values in technical data sheet no. 101.
- For non-absorbent and weakly absorbent substrates such as tiles
- Quick turnaround: dry and recoatable after about 1 hour at 20 °C
- Ready to use, water-based and low-VOC

The system build-up
Primer is layer one. You need the rest to go with it.
A surface lasts because the layers fit together. Everything here is matched to Primer and comes in one order.

Questions
What applicators ask about this.
Frequently asked questions
Can I prime directly on old tiles?
Yes. Tiles are non-absorbent substrates, and that is exactly what the Primer is made for. Clean them thoroughly beforehand and either remove any grease residue or sand them lightly. For old tiles we also specify levelling afterwards with Basic lightweight filler, with a fleece in the first coat.
How do I apply the Primer?
Apply it generously, with full coverage, in a crosswise pattern, using a roller or brush. One coat is usually enough; if needed, apply a second one after it has dried. You do not have to mix anything, and you can dilute it with a maximum of 5 % water.
How long do I have to wait before I can trowel?
About 1 hour at 20 °C and 65 % relative humidity. The Primer is then dry and can be recoated. Lower temperatures and higher humidity extend the time.
Do I need anything underneath on a highly absorbent substrate?
Yes. You first even out lime-cement plaster, concrete, aerated concrete and plasterboard with Hydrogrund. Once it has dried, the Primer follows.
How cold can it be on site?
Not colder than 5 °C. This applies to the substrate and the surroundings, during application as well as during drying.
What the surface still needs.
Primer and sealer are part of the build-up. The times given above apply to the fully sealed surface.
