Hydrogrund
5 l

Item no. 1001

If the substrate is absorbent, Hydrogrund goes on first. The solvent-free penetrating primer reduces the absorbency and evens it out across the surface. It works on mineral substrates such as lime, cement, gypsum and plasterboard as well as on old dispersion paint coats. Hydrogrund comes ready to use from the container, so no mixing is needed. Allow approx. 130 to 200 ml per m². The 5-litre container therefore covers around 25 to 38 m² with one application. On highly absorbent substrates, you need both: first Hydrogrund for evening out, then the Primer after drying.

  • On highly absorbent substrates: Hydrogrund first, then Primer once dry
  • Substrates: lime, cement, gypsum, plasterboard and old emulsion paint coats
  • Ready to use: solvent-free penetrating primer, no mixing needed

The system build-up

Hydrogrund is layer one. You need the rest to go with it.

A surface lasts because the layers fit together. Everything here is matched to Hydrogrund and comes in one order.

Frequently asked questions

When do I use Hydrogrund and when the Primer?

You use Hydrogrund for absorbent mineral substrates such as lime, cement, gypsum or plasterboard, and for old dispersion paint coats. It reduces absorbency and evens it out. The Primer is the multi-purpose primer for weakly absorbent and non-absorbent substrates. For highly absorbent substrates such as lime-cement plaster, concrete, aerated concrete or plasterboard you need both: first Hydrogrund for evening out, and only after it has dried do you prime with the Primer.

Do I still need to mix Hydrogrund?

No. Hydrogrund is a solvent-free penetrating primer and comes ready to use from the container. No mixing is needed.

How far does the 5-litre container go?

Around 25 to 38 m² with one application. We assume approx. 130 to 200 ml per m²; the container holds 5 litres.

How do I store an opened container?

Store the container tightly closed and protect it from frost and direct sunlight.
