Choose a dateAfter the two days
You work hands-on from the start. At the end of the two days your own series of samples is in front of you. For every surface you know how it came about.
Naturale powder as a dry mortar on a lime marble base, plus Naturale fine, medium and coarse at grain thicknesses of 0.3 to 0.7 mm. Each grain size gives a different look in the same shade.
B-Ton as a mineral dry mortar that you apply until the surface looks like cast concrete. You control consumption and layer thickness yourself.
Powder pigments colour Naturale powder in 32 shades; we supply Naturale fine to coarse ready tinted. You learn when to colour in the material and when on top.
An artificial grass brush, sponge float and smoothing trowel make three different surfaces from the same compound. What matters is the moment at which you work the compound. More force makes no difference.
Twelve glaze shades from dark gold to dirty mud, plus D-Kortih 0. Mica such as Gold Piece 3 or Cats Grain and granite additives such as Pepper & Salt do the rest.
Bronze, copper, brass and steel: binder with real metal powder. With Metall Aktiv you drive the oxidation and get rust or patina when you need it.
Impregnating soap on mineral surfaces such as Naturale or B-Ton, wax where the surface is meant to get a sheen.
A maximum of ten participants per date. That leaves enough time for personal guidance.
The schedule
Mineral surfaces need time between coats. That is why the first day is about the build-up and the second about everything that goes on top.
You assess the substrate and prime it. Then you apply Naturale and B-Ton, colour with powder pigments and create the first texture with brush, float and trowel.
On the second day comes everything that gives the surface character: glazes and D-Kortih 0, mica and granite additives, Echtmetall and Oxydmetall with Metall Aktiv. Finally you protect the surface with impregnating soap and wax. You also learn the combinations: which glaze suits which base and which additive goes into which shade.
Voices from the training room
Four voices from the D-Korativ workshop, recorded at the end of the two days in Lannach.

„Yes, it was really cool. I mean, the workshop was really informative.“

„Well, Philip does exactly what we want, or ask for, or want to try out, and it's really worth recommending.“

„The metal surfaces, definitely, you might not have thought them possible.“

„The stencil techniques are very special, I definitely wouldn't have thought myself capable of them on a large surface.“

Who trains you
Two days at your own board with him beside you: from dry mortar to patina.

Philip is a master painter and has worked in surface design for eight years. What he shows you, he does himself on site.
He takes you through every step you will need on site later: priming the substrate, applying Naturale and B-Ton, colouring with powder pigments, creating texture with brush, float and trowel, dosing glazes and additives, letting Echtmetall oxidise and protecting the surface with impregnating soap or wax.
You do every task yourself, and he stands beside you and corrects before a surface goes wrong. At the end of day 2 your own series of samples is in front of you and you know how each surface came about.
Before you book
Organisational details are on the overview page. Here it is about the material.
Nine, all made by you yourself. At the end they stand next to each other and in your series you see what difference grain size, glaze and additive each make.
Naturale powder and Naturale fine, medium and coarse as lime marble plaster, B-Ton for the concrete look, powder pigments for colouring, glazes No. 1 to 12 and D-Kortih 0, mica and granite additives, Echtmetall and Oxydmetall, plus impregnating soap and wax.
Naturale powder comes in 32 Materea tints, plus 32 powder pigments for colouring. We supply Naturale fine, medium and coarse ready tinted. The twelve glazes range from light gold to star black.
