What do I need the sponge float for?
For washing over and texturing fresh mineral surfaces. The float is an application tool for decorative trowelling and plastering techniques, and with its sponge surface you can also clean and rework mineral coatings. In our technical data sheets, it is listed only for B-Ton. For T-Razzino, we specify the soft stainless steel trowel there, and for lime marble the Venetian smoothing trowel.
When do I need the float with B-Ton?
For the matt surface. The freshly smoothed surface gets a light water mist before the film is laid. After you remove the film, wash the surface over with the sponge float while it is still damp, which makes it relatively matt. For a strongly glossy surface, we do not provide for washing over: lay the film without spraying and remove it as late as possible, after 8 hours at the earliest and ideally only after 12 hours.
